Duties:

First Class Moving Systems is looking for an entry-level or experienced Inventory Control /Warehouse Specialist.  We are a rapidly growing and expanding company focused on excelling past customer expectations and standards through our four major brands: First Class Moving Systems, First Class Commercial Services, First Class Global Logistics, and First Class Interior Solutions. Our Inventory Control/Warehouse Specialist performs standard warehousing duties of loading and unloading orders, stocking inventory and maintaining our warehouse. The Inventory Control/Warehouse Specialist is responsible for handling and processing all returns. The Inventory Control/Warehouse Specialist will maintain the organization’s inventory, ordering and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements. This position also performs a variety of activities to ensure inventory and documents are accurate, discrepancies are resolved and are submitted promptly and according to company policy. Top applicants will be skilled verbal and written communicators with excellent presentation, customer service, time management, and computer skills with experience providing support to a busy warehouse environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Move goods, product, or other freight to and from storage, loading docks, delivery vehicles, lift vans, or containers, by hand or using forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks or other equipment.
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  • Responsible for handling and processing returns on a daily basis, going into our warehouse to locate the returns, researching and cataloging to ensure an up-to-date inventory count
  • Check in trucks with product
  • Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas
  • Reading customers' orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved
  • Check in trucks with product
  • Sort items before loading and unloading.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Stack goods or product in locations such as vaults or trailers, using pallets or cargo boards.
  • Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
  • Receive information or instructions for performing work assignments.
  • Load shipments, belongings, or product.
  • Safely operate moving or lifting equipment.
  • Assume ownership of warehouse inventory counts.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy
  • Be accountable for returns of material overages and/or materials with monetary deposits
  • Maintain proper item location codes
  • Capable of multitasking;
  • Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such Windfall or equivalent
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Responsible for quality service by following organization standards
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas and workstation neat

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred. General understanding of inventory principles and experience with warehouse and heavy equipment. CDL is a plus. Previous experience operating a Forklift. Must be able to pass Criminal Background and Drug & Alcohol Screen. Strong communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.  Must have reliable transportation.

The position will be out of our Tampa, FL (Broadway) location at 7004 E. Broadway Ave. Tampa, FL 33619. 

Physical Requirements: The minimum physical requirements for this position include ability to operate a personal computer. Ability to stand and/or sit for an extended period of time. Move and handle boxes throughout the warehouse and job sites, which entails lifting and performing all functions as set forth. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
